Gawvi , who is under Lecrae's label "Reach Records" is making noise and a name for himself with his Album/EP "Lost In Hue". Many of us who have watched him from his start with Rhema Soul, the four-song EP. This first official EP is Gawvi's first solo artist project, and shows people that he is not just producer, for Reach Records but an artist as well.

Now we are hearing Gawvi singing lines on top of his futuristic upbeat producing style which is highly unique. As you listen to "Lost In Hue" you can hear the influences of the soft-synth and beat production that Gawvi has been known for. All of the electronica tracks can easily hang and last with DeadMau5, David Guetta, Timbaland, and will.i.am.

The lyrics are somewhat spiritually vague across the EP, but “You Are” is the most Christian of many tracks on the EP. Reach Records is showcasing Gawvi’s producing abilities and highlighting his newly produced vocal sound, probably for a secular market entrance which is phenomenal! Reach Records has a plan for Gawvi and is following the Lecrae strategy of creating great music first, and not stressing or worrying about what “market” it falls into based off its lyrical content. Some may see this as a great thing, others may see it as not-so-great.

Production-wise, “Late Nights” feels like something you’d hear on a “late night” at a miami dance club, if you get the point. It starts with the vocals, and then explodes and progresses into a house beat with very complex vocal edits, followed by a breakdown section, and back into the dance groove etc. As far as we can tell this is indeed Gawvi singing the riffs, alongside “In the Water”, the only other track with his vocal on it. But “Late Nights” is a very melodic dance cut track that can hang with the best producers in the EDM genre.

“You Are” is a testimony of how Gawvi feels about God, and the the track is most reminiscent of something Capitol Kings might sing, but that you might also hear on secular radio. This track could make it onto the playlists of Christian radio stations. GAWVI's track “Out of My Mind” is a more straight to the point love song. This is a singable, catchy, modern song. Songs like this are the ones that have given Gawvi his gawvigetem hashtag – crowdpleasers that make his fans proud, cheering him onto new heights.

Overall, "Lost In Hue" is a highly enjoyable EP that challenges both the secular and Christian music industry , and that is awesome. Gawvi and Lecrae and the other artists at Reach are showing how great music can cross lines, infects the music culture of our world.
